Preparing for data collection

Preparing for data collection

The most important thing licenceholders can do to prepare for data collection is to make sure that all teaching staff are aware of the three basic terms of the licence and the importance of accurately recording bibliographic information on material copied under the licence. For example, if course materials given to students are kept in a compiled pack with a contents page containing the bibliographical information on each item in the pack, then data collection requires nothing more than copying this information into the data collection spreadsheet and adding the quantity of students who have access to the pack on the year of the data collection. We provide resources to support staff education.
