Data collection is intended to provide CLNZ with usage data that we can use to make distributions of funds to the rightsholders who have agreed to allow us to licence their material to you. Without their support your organisation would have to go through the complex compliance process outlined here.
It is important to remember that we are not the copyright police and it is not our intention to take punitive actions in response to the data supplied to us. If copying in excess of the licence is found, we will simply notify of your organisation of it—it’s then up to your organisation to decide how to remedy the issue.
